World number one Rafael Nadal lost his second exhibition match in consecutive days as he tries to get fit for Wimbledon.
The defending Wimbledon champion lost 4-6 7-6 (8/6) 10-3 to number 19 seed Stanislav Wawrinka in the BNP Paribas Fortis Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham this afternoon.
The 23-year-old was trying to shake off the knee problems that have plagued him for weeks and forced him to pull out of Queen's earlier this month because of tendinitis in both knees.
The Spaniard lost to Lleyton Hewitt in his first exhibition match yesterday after which Nadal's uncle and coach, Toni Nadal, hinted the Wimbledon champion was still having major problems.
Nadal was due to hold a press conference at the Hurlingham Club after today's clash with Wawrinka but he ominously opted to change his plans and address the media at 7pm at Wimbledon tonight.
